    Bandits kill ten, raze houses in fresh Kaduna attacks

    Bandits kill three, abducts village head, 11 others in Zamfara
    The bandits kidnapped the district head of the village, his eight-year-old daughter, and roughly ten others.

    Bandits have reportedly killed at least ten persons in the early hours of Friday in Warkan village of Zangon Kataf LGA as well as Kakkau area of Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.

    Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incidents, adding that the bandits also killed people in Kibori, Katsit and Afana in Zangon Kataf local government area as well as Amana Kasuwa of Igabi LGA.

    The Commissioner further said that five youths from Kafanchan town of Jema’a LGA were reported missing by security agencies.

    He said Governor Nasir El-Rufai condemned the killings in Zangon Kataf, Chikun, Igabi LGAs as well as the disappearance of five persons in Jema’a LGA of the State.

    In a statement on Friday evening, Aruwan said: “Security Agencies had previously reported killings of citizens in Kibori, Katsit and Afana in Zangon Kataf local government area, and Amana Kasuwa of Igabi LGA before reporting the killing of nine persons today Friday 9th July 2021 at Warkan village of Zangon Kataf LGA and one person at Kakkau area of Chikun LGA.”

    • 42 killed as bandits raid Zamfara community

    According to a report by the The Nation, the bandits invaded Warkan village on Friday in Zangon Kataf local government area, killing nine persons and injuring others.

    The bandits, according to eyewitnesses, stormed the village around 2:00am while the villagers were fast asleep.

    It was learnt that many houses were razed and other property destroyed during the attack.
