The trial of Andrew Ominikoron, a driver for Lagos State Bus Rapid Transport, who is charged with raping and killing Oluwabamise Ayanwole, a 22-year-old fashion designer, has been postponed to March 3, 2025, in order to adopt a final written address, according to a Lagos State High Court in Tafawa Balewa Square.

The date was set by trial judge Justice Sherifat Sonaike after defence attorney Mr. Abayomi Omotubora was not present.

In order to accept the final written address, the court also postponed the case until February 10, 2025, on the last date of adjournment, which was January 30, 2025.

In the case of Omotubora, who was absent due to illness, the court postponed the case to November 29, 2024.
Omotubora was not present when the case reopened on Monday; therefore, the court decided to postpone it until March 3, 2025.

The Lagos State Government has filed four charges against Ominikoron, including conspiracy, rape, and murder of Bamise.

He was charged with raping and killing his passenger along the Lekki-Ajah Conservation Motorway on February 26, 2022, and was presented in court in March 2022.

Ominnikoron conspired with other people who are currently at large to rape and kill Bamise, his 22-year-old passenger, the prosecution informed the court.
