Nollywood actress and producer Adanma Luke has asked Nigerians for forgiveness following the sad boat accident that killed actor John Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, and four others.  In a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, Luke, the producer of the film “The Other Side of Life,” in which the crew appeared before their deaths, revealed that she has been despondent since the tragedy in April. A moving train crushed and killed a yet-to-be-identified man in the Mushin area of Lagos State.  The incident was said to have occurred at 6 p.m. on Monday while the deceased was wandering along the Cappa railway tracks. According to a statement filed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s spokesman, Nosa Okunbor,trr the victim was found dead at the scene with significant injuries from the crash. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed claims that some of its officials are involved in the sale of Permanent Voter Cards in Edo State ahead of the governorship election on September 21. The Katsina State Police Command’s officers have prevented two bandit attacks, rescued five abducted victims, and neutralised two kidnappers.  This was revealed by the command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, in a press statement released to the Punch on Monday. Sadiq stated that the command received a distress call on Sunday regarding a bandit attack on Layin Minister Village in the Malumfashi LGA of the state. The proposed meeting between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, which was scheduled for Monday (today), has been postponed. Candidates under the age of 18 are not permitted to take the National Examinations Council (NECO) or West African Examinations Council (WAEC), according to the federal government.  Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education, said this during his appearance on Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’ program on Sunday night.
