Two illegal migrants have been arrested over the gruesome murder of Lola Daviet, a 12-year-old girl whose remains were found in a suitcase outside of her home in Paris, France. It is thought that Lola Daviet, the victim, was tortured and raped before she was put to death. On Monday, two suspects—a male, 43, and a homeless Algerian woman, 24, only known as Dabhbia B—were charged in the French capital. Famous Abuja disc jockey Bashiru Bello, popularly known as DJ Bash, has reportedly lost his life after being shot by unknown gunmen on Friday. The late DJ Bash, Club Volcano’s in-house DJ, had just performed at a well-publicised TGIF celebration to honour the NYSC Batch B ‘Passing Out’ ceremony when tragedy struck. A Nigerian woman has reportedly lost her life after returning to the country from Canada. It was gathered that the yet-to-be identified woman, who returned to the country healthy, felt ill days later and died at an unnamed hospital. The death of the returnee was announced by her niece, Wura Nicole, in a statement on X on Saturday. According to Nicole, her aunt, who was “purging”, died from cholera. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). His appointment was announced in a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday. Gbeleyi’s appointment follows the sacking of Mamman Ahmadu as the DG of the Bureau by Tinubu on Saturday. President Bola Tinubu has ordered the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu from office as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), claims he is unaware that beleaguered Super Eagles coach Finidi George has resigned.  This comes after the NFF said Thursday that it would appoint an “expatriate technical adviser” for the Eagles, following their terrible performances in the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.
