A bomb thrown into a crowd at a festival in Thailand exploded, killing at least three people and injuring scores more.  The attack occurred shortly before midnight local time on Friday at the Red Cross Doi Loyfa festival, which is held yearly in Umphang district, northern Tak province. The Ogun State Police Command announced on Saturday that a truck driver, Olalere Timileyin, and his motor boy were detained in Obada Oko, Abeokuta, the state capital, in connection with the death of a man who was allegedly attacked for allegedly stealing a tarpaulin.  SP Omolola Odutola, a spokeswoman for the state police command, confirmed this in a statement to the press on Saturday. Residents of Powishi village in Kalmai District of Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State, claim five people were killed during the recent incursion by suspected herdsmen.  In a phone conversation with City Round on Friday, community members questioned the police account, which said that Mallam Yusuf Akwara was the only person murdered in the incident. The Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, Oyo State, was on Friday night, razed by fire, trapping several worshippers inside. The Kano State Fire Service has revealed that a husband and wife died in a midnight fire at Rangaza (Inken) Layin AU in the state’s Ungogo Local Government Area.  The fatalities were identified as 67-year-old Muhammed Uba and his 52-year-old wife, Fatima.
