The World Bank is poised to approve $632 million in new loans to Nigeria today (Monday), amid growing concerns over the country’s expanding debt profile. A hearing-impaired pedestrian was killed on Sunday in an accident involving two commercial minibuses along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, inward Maryland, Lagos State. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the accident in a statement on Sunday, stating that one of the minibuses, while speeding, lost control and rammed into a stationary vehicle before hitting the pedestrian, who was waiting at a designated bus stop near Temac Filling Station. President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe as the Chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for an initial four-year term.
