Emmanuel Kanu, a Nigerian man, has reportedly gone mad after returning to the country from abroad and has been seen shouting on the street. Emmanuel Kanu suddenly developed a mental disorder following his return to the country. In a now-viral video, shouting, “Oh Lord, you say, when we call on you, you will answer, Oh Lord, I am in a time of need.” The returnee was seen with two travel bags bearing his name as onlookers gathered, watching in sympathy. Operatives of the Nigerian police in Lagos State have apprehended two suspects for possessing a toy gun and resisting arrest.  This was announced in a statement on X on Saturday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer in Lagos State. A social media influencer, Emeka Gift, has alleged that the arrest of controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky, is a deliberate decoy to “target the Igbos.” In a statement on Saturday, Gift alleged that the arrest of the cross-dresser was a ploy to “clamp down on” those of the Igbo ethnic extraction. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has condemned the remarks made by a former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, on the arrest of Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky. An improved national identity card featuring social service and financial functions will be unveiled by the federal government via the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). This new card will be powered by AfriGO, a national domestic card scheme that was created in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System. Muhammed Tunde, a Nigerian Navy officer who was dismissed in 2000, has been arrested for impersonating a serving military official and coordinating assaults. SP Benjamin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement released on Saturday.
