A disgruntled Nigerian husband has lamented the difficulties his pregnant wife faced during the October 2020 #EndSARS protest. Speaking against the ills of protests, he lamented that his seven-month-old pregnant wife trekked from Maryland to Ikorodu as a result of roadblocks caused during the #EndSARS protest. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency stated on Thursday that three site workers died when a building collapsed at Arowojobe Estate in the Maryland region of the state.  Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency’s permanent secretary, verified this in a statement released to the News Agency of Nigeria. Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has deactivated 63,000 accounts affiliated with the notorious “Yahoo Boys” scam organisation, according to the company’s Q1 2024 Adversarial Threat Report released on Wednesday.  The accounts, which were removed in recent weeks, were used to conduct financial sextortion scams and distribute blackmail scripts. Meta revealed that a smaller network of 2,500 accounts, each linked to approximately 20 people, predominantly targeted adult men in the United States with forged identities. A passenger plane crashed on takeoff in Kathmandu on Wednesday, killing all 18 people on board, according to police in Nepal’s capital.  Nepal has a poor track record in aviation safety, with a number of tragic light plane and helicopter crashes throughout the years. The family of late General Sani Abacha petitioned the Court of Appeal, Abuja division, on Tuesday to overturn and set aside Justice Peter Lifu’s decision rejecting a property action filed by the family at the lower court.  On Monday, July 22, 2024, Justice Lifu dismissed the Abachab family’s lawsuit against the Federal Government, which challenged the validity of the previous Military Head of State’s property revocation.
