The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has firmly denied claims that $2,000 was distributed to some Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) as an “attendance fee” during its recent engagement in Maiduguri. In a statement, the NBA National Secretariat described the allegation as baseless and unsupported by evidence, warning that it unfairly questions the integrity of the association’s leadership. Unity Bank Plc says its merger with Providus Bank Limited remains on course following approvals from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). President Bola Tinubu has signed a sweeping executive order aimed at redirecting oil and gas revenues straight into the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), marking one of the most significant fiscal shifts since the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act.
