The management of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) says the truck involved in an accident in Enugu belongs to Visco Investment Global Limited, a third-party operator. Online reports had claimed that a truck belonging to Dangote Group on Wednesday collided with vehicles and killed a number of persons in the state. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has introduced new regulations to address harassment, data breaches, and exploitative practices in Nigeria’s digital lending space. In a statement on Wednesday, the FCCPC said the digital, electronic, online, or non-traditional consumer lending regulations, 2025 also known as the DEON consumer lending regulation were officially gazetted and took effect on July 21. The commission said the rules, issued under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (2018), will serve as a comprehensive framework for registration, transparency, and ethical loan recovery. The naira appreciated to N1,521.45 per dollar at the official section of the foreign exchange (FX) market on Wednesday. Data from the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) shows the currency gained 0.3 percent from N1,526.05/$ recorded on September 2. The latest record marks the naira’s strongest performance since July 14, when it exchanged at N1,518.88 per dollar, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Swiss food giant Nestle has dismissed Laurent Freixe as chief executive with immediate effect over an “undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate”.
