A Czech crowdfunding campaign for Ukraine has successfully raised more than $1.30m (£1.17m) to buy a modernised tank for the Ukrainian army. Dubbed “a gift for Putin”, the campaign received donations from 11,288 individual donors, and organisers say it is the first purchase of its kind. A 12-year-old boy has been shot dead by his elder brother that was testing a ‘bulletproof’ charm in Kaiama, Kwara state. His elder brother shot him dead while testing the efficacy of the charm that both of them had deployed to “fortify” themselves. A former president of Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide, Dr Onyifie Jonjon, has called for the rejigging of the amnesty deal signed between the Federal Government and repentant militants of the Niger Delta.
