The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has given a 160-seater lecture theatre to the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) for the training and development of future bankers. The minister in charge of Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel) in Lokoja, Pastor Fred Attabo, 68, is dead, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. The Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has confirmed that 23 persons lost their lives to flooding and windstorm in 25 local government areas of the state. The Nigerian government has approached the Supreme Court to overturn a Court of Appeal ruling that freed separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu and dropped terrorism charges against him. Last week the appeal court ordered that Kanu be discharged, saying the government did not follow due process in his extradition to Nigeria from Kenya, and that the federal court did not have jurisdiction to try the case. The United Nations (UN) has expressed concern over the flooding in Nigeria, which has impacted the lives of more than 2.8 million men, women, and, children.
