Mobile telecommunication company, MTN Plc, has announced the change of its recharge and data activation codes. Subscribers on the MTN network used *555* for recharging and *131# for buying data but that has now changed. Though MTN did not give reasons for the change in codes, however, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), on the 14th of March 2023, released a harmonized short codes to be used by mobile network operators and customers in the country. An unspecified number of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have reportedly been kidnapped by unidentified armed men.
