The Nigerian government has approved N25,000 allowance for doctors after the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) embarked on an indefinite strike. The federal government noted that the N25,000 will serve as a peculiar allowance for medical and dental doctors in hospitals, medical centers, and clinics in the federal public service. At least 34 people, including seven soldiers, were killed in an attack by bandits in Zamfara state, the head of a vigilante group and residents said. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Nigerians paid an average of N815 per litre for Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) in June 2023, noting that, it was an increase of 11.81 per cent. The NBS in its analysis explained that the average retail price of diesel paid by consumers in June 2023 was N815.83 per litre, an increase of 11.18% from N733.78 per litre recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year.
