EFCC arrests 22 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested no fewer than 22 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo”, in Benin City, Edo State. The suspects were arrested at different locations during separate operations conducted by the operatives on August 20. A statement on Wednesday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, noted that the suspects were arrested following intelligence received on their activities. A former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, is dead. Ayoola was said to have died at the age of 90 on Tuesday. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the deceased family on Wednesday. Ajax sign Daniele Rugani on season-long loan from Juventus

Ajax have signed former Italian international Daniele Rugani on a one-season loan deal from Juventus, the Dutch club said on Wednesday. Fake degrees: Kenya, Uganda to verify Nigerian students' records amid certificate fraud concerns

Examination boards in Kenya and Uganda are now writing Nigeria to verify records presented by Nigerian candidates seeking admissions into tertiary institutions in their countries. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board made this known in a document for the 2024 policy meeting. Nigerians among 53 migrants feared dead after Libya boat capsizes

At least 20 people, including a baby, died when an overcrowded boat sank on a river in the Western Democratic Republic of Congo at the weekend, local authorities said on Tuesday.
