Omar Marmoush stole the show with a sensational first-half hat-trick as Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium. The win extended Manchester City’s dominant home record against the Magpies to 16 consecutive victories in the Premier League. Bouncing back from a midweek defeat to Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola’s side wasted no time asserting control. Their breakthrough came in the 19th minute when goalkeeper Ederson launched a long ball forward, setting up Marmoush for a composed lob over Martin Dubravka—his first goal in City colors. The Egyptian forward struck again just five minutes later,…
A late brace from substitute Mikel Merino powered Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, extending their unbeaten Premier League run to 15 matches and keeping them within striking distance of league leaders Liverpool. Mikel Arteta faced a major selection dilemma after losing Kai Havertz to a season-ending hamstring injury, adding to an already lengthy injury list that includes Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. With attacking options limited, the Arsenal boss turned to Leandro Trossard as a makeshift striker, flanked by Raheem Sterling and 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri. The first half was a cagey affair,…

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has dismissed the allegations made by detained Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan against Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu. Omokri described the claims as a “false flag” operation meant to divert attention from revelations that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) allegedly funded Boko Haram. In a statement on Thursday via his verified X account, Omokri questioned the timing of Gambaryan’s accusations, pointing out that they came just an hour after U.S. Congressman Scott Perry claimed that some American officials had been channeling funds to Boko Haram. “This is a man who…
Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso has insisted that his team’s upcoming Bundesliga showdown with league leaders Bayern Munich is not a decisive match in the title race, despite the significant points gap between the two sides. Leverkusen currently sit second in the table with 46 points, trailing Bayern, who have 54. A victory for Bayern would extend their lead to 11 points with 12 games left in the season, while a Leverkusen win would cut the gap to just five. However, Alonso does not see the match as a final battle for the title. “It is not a final,…

Former Ondo State First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has opened up about her late husband, former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s battle with cancer, criticizing reliance on spiritual interventions over medical treatment.
