The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday confirmed the release of the Director General, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr Osita Okechukwu, who was detained over alleged fraud. Spokesperson for the commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, told NAN in Abuja that Okechukwu was released on January 31. Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on Friday convicted and sentenced Oyelowo Mayowa Fawas, 20, from Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State to 12 months imprisonment for offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds.
