The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 576 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday. The 576 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 89,163. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 416 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported. A chief Imam of a village in kaduna has been murdered by unknown gunmen. The bandits invaded Kawaran Rafi village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state, killed the Imam, Danleeman Isah and the Sarkin Yaki of Godogodo, Mr Yohanna Abu. Bitcoin, the leading virtual currency, saw its price pass $30,000 on Saturday for the first time in just its latest record high. The first decentralised cryptocurrency surpassed $30,823.30 at 1313 GMT, according to data compiled by the Bloomberg news agency, having broken $20,000 on December 16.
