Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has called out Canada government over its handling of protests in Ottawa. The minister also pointed out the ‘double standard’ of social media platform, Twitter, that aided similar protest in Nigeria but clampdown on Canadian protesters. Ogun State police Command on Saturday arrested one Kehinde Oladimeji, 43, and his wife Adejumoke Raji, 35, for being in possession of fresh different human parts. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari over “the failure to publish copy of the agreement the Federal Government recently signed with Twitter Inc, and the failure to publish the details of the terms and conditions of any such agreement.” Joined in the suit as Respondent is Alhaji Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture. The results of local government area elections held in the Federal Capital Territory in six Area Councils of Abuja have been announced. The Area Councils are Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali and Abuja Municipal (AMAC). The election will lead to the emergence of six chairpersons – one for each area council – and 62 councillors. Over 400 candidates and their running mates contested for these positions on the platforms of the 14 parties. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has ordered the suspension of the Air Force officer who prevented Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state from entering the Makurdi Air Force Base. Ortom was at the Air Force Base on Saturday morning to receive Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was transiting through from Abuja to Taraba State where he represented the President as Visitor to the Federal University in Wukari.
