The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced a ‘Naira 4 Dollar Scheme’ for diaspora remittances, which offers recipients of diaspora remittances through CBN’s IMTOs to be paid N5 for every $1 received as remittance inflow. The scheme takes effect from Monday, March 8, 2021, and ends on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Myanmar security forces used tear gas and stun grenades to break up a protest in Yangon on Saturday, just hours after a United Nations special envoy called on the Security Council to take action against the ruling junta for the killings of protesters. The Osun State Police Command on Saturday morning confirmed the release of the seven abducted travellers along Osogbo/Obokun road. Suspected herdsmen on Tuesday night around 7:30pm stormed the road after Ajenbandele village in Ibokun Council Area of Osun State and abducted an unknown number of travellers. During the attack, a yet-to-be-known man was shot dead while two women sustained injuries. The estranged wife of former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, Precious Chikwendu has commenced legal process to retain custody of their children. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria has cancelled the First Series Literature-in-English (2&1, 3) examination of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) taken by private candidates. No reason was given for the cancellation. The examination was taken on Friday, 26th February. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 11,2021.
