President Vladimir Putin of Russia has ordered troops into two rebel-held regions in eastern Ukraine, after recognising them as independent states. Footage released overnight appeared to show Russian military vehicles heading towards the Ukrainian border. Nigerian airlines have increased airfare by 100% with immediate effect after a meeting in Lagos by domestic airline operators on Monday. Although the airlines agreed to implement the price increase on March 1, checks by Chronicle NG shows that all airlines have already implemented the increase. A source who spoke to Chronicle NG explained that the humungous increment was caused by the increase in the cost of aviation fuel.
