The Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations has voiced alarm about the growing trend of Nigerians travelling abroad

The Senate has confirmed the nominations of five Executive Director-nominees of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). The confirmation of the nominees followed the consideration of a report by the Committee on Downstream Petroleum Sector. Those confirmed include: Francis Alabo Ogaree, Executive Director, Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; and Dr. Mustapha Lamorde, Executive Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Community. The Senate will next week Tuesday vote on the report of the Senate Committee on Constitution Review on amendments to the 1999 Constitution. Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, gave the hint at the start of plenary, following an announcement made to invite members of the committee to a meeting scheduled to hold by 2pm on Tuesday. Omo-Agege, who presided over the session, disclosed that the report of the Constitution Review Committee would be laid tomorrow during plenary, and copies distributed to lawmakers tomorrow, Wednesday, February 23, 2022. President Vladimir Putin of Russia has ordered troops into two rebel-held regions in eastern Ukraine, after recognising them as independent states. Footage released overnight appeared to show Russian military vehicles heading towards the Ukrainian border. NCAA to sanction airlines over delayed ticket refunds

Nigerian airlines have increased airfare by 100% with immediate effect after a meeting in Lagos by domestic airline operators on Monday. Although the airlines agreed to implement the price increase on March 1, checks by Chronicle NG shows that all airlines have already implemented the increase.
