The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and his Government over his alleged role in the abduction of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his subsequent ‘smuggling’ into Nigeria by security agents. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 secured the conviction of Michael Moyosore Boluwatife, Olasunmade Alex Omotayo and Aborisade Abayomi Emmanuel for fraudulent impersonation. The trio were prosecuted on separate one count amended charge of fraudulent impersonation, contrary to Section 22 (2) and punishable under Section 22 (2)(b)(iv) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Act, 2015. The Senate has passed the Petroleum Industry Bill known as PIB. The bill was passed during the plenary on Thursday after careful consideration of each of the clauses. The Senate before passing the bill met behind closed doors with the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari. A US judge has denied Britney Spears’s request to remove her father from his role overseeing her conservatorship. The pop star’s lawyer asked an LA court to end Jamie Spears control of her estate, in November last year. The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the long awaited Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) after considering and adopting the bill’s 318 clauses. A Jigawa High Court sitting in Hadejia has sentenced one Jibril Idi to life imprisonment for raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl. Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Ado Yusuf Birnin Kudu convicted Idi after finding him guilty of the offence. He said the offence is contrary to Section 282 (1)(e) of the Penal Code Cap P3 Laws of Jigawa State 2012 and punishable under Section 3 of the Penal Code (Miscellaneous Amendment) Law No. 9, 2014. A Kaduna State High court has set aside July 28, 2021, to rule on the no-case submission filed by the embattled leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN),  Sheikh Ibrahim Elzakzaky and his wife Zeenat,  challenging the charges levelled against them by the Kaduna state government.
