Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari over “the failure to review and rescind his reported approval for security agencies to access people’s personal details via NIN-SIM linkage without due process of law.” President Buhari had in February reportedly given his approval for some security agencies to access the database of the National Identity Management Commission in the course of carrying out their duties. Traci Braxton, the 50-year old sister of singer Toni Braxton, has died after a long battle with cancer. Traci’s husband Kevin Surratt said, “We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for Esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory.” We’re told Traci’s sisters, mom and friends were by her side when she passed. Saudi Arabia says it executed 81 men on Saturday – more than during the whole of last year. The group – including seven Yemenis and one Syrian national – were convicted of “multiple heinous crimes”, including terrorism, state news agency SPA said. Some were charged with belonging to the Islamic State group (IS), al-Qaeda or the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
