President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, who is currently on indefinite medical leave in Britain, has spoken to the King of Morocco by telephone, a government spokesman said on Thursday. The statement was the latest reassurance from the presidency that all is well with Buhari despite concerns for his health. Attorney General Jeff Sessions met Russia’s ambassador during the election despite telling his confirmation he had “no communications with the Russians”. The justice department confirmed he met Sergei Kislyak in July and September last year as part of his role on the Senate Armed Services Committee. South Africa’s MTN chairman said on Thursday that accusations that Africa’s biggest mobile operator had moved funds illegally out of Nigeria had no basis. According to a report by Reuters, MTN said it was not in anyway involved in illegal dealings. MTN is facing an investigation by Nigerian lawmakers for allegedly illegally repatriating $14 billion between 2006 and 2016. An Abeokuta High Court on Wednesday sentenced two brothers, John Kuku, 45, Fabu Kuku, 33, to death by hanging for armed robbery. The accused persons, all from Cotonou in Benin Republic, lived at Opic Estate at Agbara in Ogun state.
