Former military governor of the old Mid-western state, now Edo State, Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia has died. He was 84-years old at the time of his death. He passed away about 11pm yesterday but the cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as at press time. Ogbemudia is a Nigerian former army officer and politician. al-Shabab has killed six Somalia government spies

The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on Thursday confirmed that the leader of the militant group al-Shabaab has surrendered to government forces in Baidoa town in southern Somalia. The AU mission confirmed that Hussein Mukhtar surrendered to the Somali National Army (SNA) on Tuesday following a government amnesty offer for militants to surrender. “AMISOM calls on Al-Shabaab fighters to heed the government’s amnesty,’’ AMISOM said in a statement. The number of illegal immigrants crossing into the US from Mexico went down by 40% from January to February, according to the US government. Homeland Security chief John Kelly said the “change in trends” was a result of Donald Trump’s tough policies. The president has signed an executive order for an “impassable physical barrier” on the US-Mexico border and issued new guidance on deportations.
