At least 10 computers with vital information about all schools in Kaduna State have been lost after fire outbreak hit a section of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) building, today, April 4th resulting in huge pandemonium. According to the Zonal Coordinator of WAEC in Kaduna, Fidelis Gaiya, who told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the fire started at about 9:50 a.m. The fire is reported to probably be as a result of an electrical fault. Health officials respond to meningitis outbreak in Sokoto State after 34 deaths and 254 infections recorded across nine LGAs.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has said death toll from the Cerebro Spinal Meningitis, CSM, outbreak across several states has increased to 336. “As at April 3, 2017, a total of 2,997 suspected cases of CSM have been reported in 16 States in Nigeria, of which 146 have been laboratory-confirmed. Unfortunately, 336 deaths have also been recorded,” a spokesperson of the NCDC, Lawal Bakare said in a statement on Tuesday.
