Onwuegbuzie Stanley-Samuel, an NYSC member deployed to Cross River, has died of Lassa fever disease at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH). The state Commissioner for Health, Inyang Asibong, who disclosed this to journalists on Friday in Calabar, said the deceased hailed from Delta and was serving in Obubra before he died. Three suicide bombers were killed in the early hours of Saturday when they attempted to infiltrate the Department of Works of the University of Maiduguri in Borno State‎. The incident occurred at about 1.10 a.m early Saturday morning. A security guard at the University was also killed from the explosions which occurred at about 1:10 a.m. ‎ The corpses have being evacuated by rescuers from the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and Borno State Emergency Management Agency, BOSEMA. A global cyber attack hit international shipper FedEx, disrupted Britain’s health system and infected computers in at least 74 countries on Friday. The attack was said to have leveraged the hacking tools widely believed by researchers to have been developed by the U.S. National Security Agency Russian cyber security software maker Kaspersky Lab said its researchers had observed more than 45,000 attacks in 74 countries as of early Friday, although it expected the numbers to increase. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At least one person has died after contracting the virus in the country’s north-east, the WHO says. The Congolese health ministry had notified the WHO of a “lab-confirmed case” of Ebola, it added on Twitter. More than 11,000 people died in the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014-2015, mainly in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The Department of State Security on Friday failed to produce business man Ifeanyi Ubah before the Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos over conflicting orders. Justice Mohammed Idris had ordered the DSS and its Director-General, Mr Lawan Daura, to produce Mr Ubah in court today or show cause why he will not be produced. A 22-year-old unemployed woman, Tope Olanrewaju, who allegedly assaulted her friend by biting off her left ear, was on Friday granted N100, 000 bail by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
