A flood which followed many hours of downpour displaced many homes and caused deaths in Suleja, Niger, on Sunday, witnesses said. Witnesses said eight members of a household were suspected to have died in the flood which affected Suleja and Tafa local Government areas of Niger. The head of the household was said to have survived but his two wives and six children were not lucky. Six hundred and eighty members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have lost their lives to the Boko Haram insurgency from 2014 till date in Borno State, the hotbed of the war. The Legal Adviser to the CJTF, Mr Jubril Gunda, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri on Sunday. US President Donald Trump has declared the G20 summit in Germany a “wonderful success”, despite his country’s isolated position on climate change. In a joint statement, the leaders of 18 nations and the EU recognised the US decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.
