A staff of Ikeja Local Government in Lagos State, Mr Shamsideen Omotayo, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Agbowa-Imota road, near Ikorodu on Wednesday. Sources told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Omotayo, a clerk in the council, was abducted on his way to work. A 51-year-old man, Alhaji Alaka Abayomi, has been arrested in connection with the attack on a family of five in Oke Ota community, Ibeshe, Ikorodu by a ritual cult, Badoo. Abayomi, who lives in the Magodo area of the state was said to be working with the group. He was arrested along with two others, whose names had yet to be disclosed. The Ekiti Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday arrested two “notorious” child traffickers. Its Commandant, Mr Donatus Ikemefuna, who announced the arrest at a news conference at Ado Ekiti, named the suspects as Stephen Udoh and Ede Thomas. “Operatives of the NSCDC nabbed the suspects after they trafficked 32 minors into the state for illicit businesses. “We have trailed the suspects for quite some time; they specialise in intra-state child trafficking between Benue and Ekiti, and into other states in the South-West. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has approved new appointments into the boards of some Federal Government agencies. A former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Muhammad-Gadi, has died at the age of 70 years, a family source said on Tuesday. A close relative to the deceased, Alhaji Abdurrahman Nuhu-Bayero, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria that Muhammad-Gadi died in an India hospital on Tuesday.
