Police in rural Virginia have released disturbing details about a woman who they say was killed by her two dogs while taking them for a walk last week. An Italian judge has ordered Royal Dutch Shell and Eni to stand trial over alleged corruption in Nigeria with the CEO of Eni among past and present managers involved, legal sources said on Wednesday. The case involves the 2011 purchase by Eni and Shell of Nigeria’s OPL-245 offshore oilfield – one of Africa’s most valuable oil blocks – for about $1.3 billion. Cardinal Bernard Law, who was forced to resign as archbishop of Boston in 2002 over a sex abuse scandal, has died aged 86 in Rome. The Police Command in Jigawa on Wednesday said it had arrested four suspected armed robbers in Dutse Local Government Area of the state. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says active subscribers have soared to 140,766,653 in October as against 139,905,213 in September. The telecommunications regulatory agency disclosed this in its monthly subscriber/operator data that was available on its website on Tuesday.
