The US House Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat has accused Republicans of tampering with a memo about claims of FBI surveillance at the 2016 election. Adam Schiff said Republicans had changed the text after it was voted on. The secret document was passed by the Republican-dominated committee but needs approval from President Donald Trump to be made public. It is believed to accuse the FBI of abusing its surveillance powers to target the Trump campaign. A Nigerian man has bought a Bugatti Veyron car owned by Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nigeria’s privately owned Punch news site reports. Obi Okeke, popularly known as Doctor Bugatti, bought the car for $2.5m ( £1.7m). The Bugatti Veyron 2015 model goes 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds and has only had about 1,000 miles on it, the report says. According to entertainment site TMZ, Mr Okeke, a Bugatti dealer, has intentions to resell the vehicle. Okeke sold Floyd Mayweather a similar whip. Namibia President Hage Geingob bans oversea travels

Namibia has banned all cabinet ministers and their deputies and other political office holders from travelling abroad due to financial constraint. President Hage Geingob of Namibia issued the directive and hopes to lift the ban by the end of February 2018. The Trump administration has extended temporary protection for nearly 7,000 Syrians in living in the US as war continues to ravage their country. They were shielded from deportation under a humanitarian programme, Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The president has cancelled TPS programmes for various countries in recent months, affecting immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and Nicaragua. The extension does not apply to any new or recent applicants from Syria. For Syrians already living and working in the US, TPS will be extended for another 18 months. Solomon, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl in Nodu village, Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area of the state. Bro. The Kaduna State Police Command said it arrested 38 suspects, involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and street gangs in three months. The State Commissioner of police, Mr Austin Iwar made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday. He said the groups were arrested between October 2017 and January 2018.
