The Senate on Thursday adjourned plenary abruptly following a fire scare in the chamber, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. Huge smoke had engulfed the chamber and the suspected cause forced the air-conditioning system to cease functioning. A 12-year old maid, Miss Faith Nwanja has recounted her ordeal in the hands of her madam after living with her four years in Anambra state. At least 17 people have been killed in a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, police say. The suspect has been named as Nicolas Cruz, 19, and is a former student at the school who had been expelled.
