The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday foiled an armed robbery attack at Sauka Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe Extension of the territory and killed two suspects. The command’s Spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, in a statement, said that the operation followed a distress call on March 10 that some armed robbers were robbing the residents of the estate. A suspected mentally challenged man on Monday hacked to death two pupils of Saint John’s Anglican Primary School in Agodo, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun. It was gathered that the assailant entered the school premises from a nearby bush and inflicted machete cuts on the children who were observing lunch break with their colleagues. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has welcomed an order by the Oba of Benin revoking a voodoo ritual, saying it should sharply reduce the number of people being trafficked to Europe and improve the chances of prosecuting traffickers.
