A flight attendant who fell from the emergency door of a parked aeroplane in Uganda’s Entebbe airport has died, the BBC has learned. The woman, whose nationality has not been revealed, was rushed to Kisubi hospital 16km (10 miles) away but died soon after, a spokesperson said. Reports say the Emirates Airline employee was preparing the flight for boarding when the incident happened. Uganda’s aviation authorities say they have launched an investigation. It said in a statement that the flight attendant “appeared to have opened the emergency door” and unfortunately “fell off an aircraft that had safely landed and parked”.…

Lawyers for US President Donald Trump are seeking $20 million (£14m) in damages from a porn actress he says broke a non-disclosure deal signed before the 2016 elections. The President of the Senate Dr. Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the death of Senator Ali Wakili who was the chairman of the Senate committee on Poverty Alleviation. Wakili died at the age of 58 and his death has been confirmed by Saraki in a series of tweets to mourn his deceased colleague. Russia’s 20 year-year old Daria Kasatkina, who had beaten several Grand Slam champions, added 37 year old Venus Williams to her victims list at Indian Wells early today. She denied Venus her dream to reach the finals of the Indian Wells tournament, beating her 6-4 4-6 7-5. The American last played the final in 2001. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would continue with the process for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye in line with the judgement of the Court of Appeal. Video Assistant Referees, VAR, will be used at the World Cup for the first time after FIFA formally approved the technology for this year’s tournament. A US couple wrongly accused of staging a real kidnapping have reached a $2.5m (£1.8m) defamation settlement with the city of Vallejo in California. Denise Huskins was taken from a home she shared with boyfriend Aaron Quinn by a masked intruder in 2015. After she was found safe 400 miles away, a police spokesperson described the investigation a “wild goose chase” and the abduction a “hoax”.
