It’s a new dawn in the advertising industry as the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has gone a step further in sanitizing the industry with the inauguration of the AAAN Monitoring/Compliance Unit at the secretariat on Monday November 15, 2021. The unit will serve as industry watchdog/whistle blowing team to report cases of non-compliance and infringement inter agency or between agency and client. The Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to establish the Real Estate Regulatory Council of Nigeria. The Council when established would, amongst others, curb fraudulent practices to ensure that the real estate business confirms with the National Building Code in Nigeria. The bill which scaled third reading during plenary is tagged: The Real Estate Regulatory Council of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2021. The Nigerian Navy has revealed that popular comedian, Abdulgafar A. A, popularly known as Cute Abiola, is not missing as alleged by his family and friends. The Navy said that the comedian is under custody in his unit for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Policy and refusal to obey particular orders. Senator Emmanuel Bwacha representing Taraba South has raised the alarm that Nigeria’s territorial sovereignty is under threat following the invasion of Manga community in Takum local government area by Ambazonia separatists from Southern Cameroon. The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has opined that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has no Christianization agenda as alleged against him in a report circulated last week. The Islamic rights organization who stated that it had no affiliation with the VP, said that the document was mere fake news. Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been charged with two further counts of rape. Mr Mendy, of Prestbury, has been summonsed to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. The 27-year-old footballer, who remains in custody, is now facing six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The charges relate to four complainants over the age of 16 and are alleged to have taken place between October 2020 and August 2021.
