The Police Command in Ebonyi has confirmed the killing of one Mr Boniface Nwoha, 29, by unknown gunmen at a drinking joint at Amika Abba area of Abakaliki. Mrs Loveth Odah, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abakaliki on Friday. An armed group that kidnapped humanitarian workers in northeastern Nigeria five months ago has claimed it killed four hostages, international aid agency Action Against Hunger said on Friday. Six people were abducted in July near the town of Damasak, in the state of Borno, where Islamist insurgents operate. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday at Ikenne, Ogun State, attended the funeral service of Venerable Emmanuel Sofowora, the first medical doctor from Ikenne community. The service was held at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Ikenne-Remo, the hometown of the vice president.
