The Edo Government has sealed some offices at the University of Benin, including the Office of the Vice Chancellor, over alleged tax evasion. NAN reports that the offices were sealed in the early hours of Monday by officials of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue (BIR). A Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Monday dismissed a suit filed by a Kano based lawyer Bulama Bukarti seeking an order of the court compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for allegedly receiving kickback from a contractor. The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the transfer of Soku oil field from Bayelsa State Government to its rightful owner, Rivers State Government. Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order on Monday while delivering judgment in a suit instituted by Rivers Government against the Attorney-General of Bayelsa and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
