The electricity national grid in Nigeria has collapsed again leaving the country without power supply. The latest collapse, is the third in about four weeks, in spite of efforts by the Nigerian government to address the lingering problem. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday struck out eight of the 15-count treasonable felony charges preferred against leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government. Specifically, the court, in a ruling that was delivered by trial Justice Binta Nyako, struck out counts 6,7,9,10,11,12,13 and 14 of the charge. The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin on Thursday sentenced three persons charged for offences bordering on cybercrime. The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the conviction. The convicts are Umar Olanrewaju also known as “Sugar Baby,” Hassan Olaitan, auto repairer, and one Tope Ayodele. The presiding Judge, Justice Muhammed Sani, agreed with the submission of the prosecuting counsels that the commission had established a prima facie case against the defendants.
