Atalanta has announced the departure of head coach Ivan Juric after 11 matches of the 2025-26 Serie A season, following a 3-0 loss at home to newly promoted Sassuolo on Sunday.

Juric, who replaced Atalanta mainstay Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer, leaves the club in 13th place in the Serie A table, with only two league wins in 11 games.

La Dea have lost their last two Serie A games, following a record of six consecutive draws, leaving them with only six points from their last eight league games.

According to Football Italia expert Alfredo Pedullà, Juric was told that his next two games, against Marseille in the Champions League and Sassuolo in Serie A, will determine his future in the Dea dugout.

Despite defeating Marseille, the coach drew headlines for his confrontation with Ademola Lookman on the sideline. After the 3-0 defeat against Sassuolo, the situation became intolerable.

Juric was also fired by Roma on this date one year ago, December 10, 2024. Former Monza and Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino is widely expected to succeed Juric as Atalanta’s head coach.

“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his position as head coach of the first team, along with his closest members of staff, namely Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojic, and Michele Orecchio,” a statement on the club website read.

“Atalanta thanks Ivan Juric and his staff for their efforts and wishes them all the best for the future.”
