Arsenal deserve to be in the Champions League this season, according to manager Mikel Arteta, who urged the Premier League team to make the most of their return to Europe’s premier competition following a six-year absence.

Arsenal, who are back in the Champions League for the first time since the 2016-17 season, are in Group B with PSV Eindhoven, Europa League champions Sevilla, and RC Lens.

“I felt it every time I watched (the Champions League), and we weren’t there.” “This club has to be in the Champions League,” Arteta told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s match at the Emirates against PSV.

“It was a long process, but we made it, and now we have to make the most of it.” It is always a learning experience. I believe we did, and we have grown as a club and as a squad, and we deserve to be here…

“We are pleased and proud. It has been a long time since the club has competed in the competition, and it is my first time as a manager, so I am quite excited.”

The English team met PSV in the Europa League last year, with both winning their respective home games in the group stage.

“We have to treat it as if it were any other game.” In the Premier League, we’re used to facing tough opponents every week. “Nothing will change tomorrow,” Arteta remarked.

“We’re going to play a really good team tomorrow.” They are used to winning, and I am confident that it will be a difficult challenge.”

Arsenal will be missing attacker Gabriel Martinelli, who was injured in their 1-0 Premier League win over Everton on Sunday.

“He felt a pull in his hamstring. “We need to do some more tests,” Arteta said, adding that there was a “possibility” that the Brazilian would be ready to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.
