    Army begins recruitment for non-tradesmen, women

    The Nigerian Army has announced the start of the recruitment process for non-tradesmen and women.

    The Army announced on its official X account on Friday that the application is free and will run from May 3 to May 4, 2024.

    The post reads: “This is to inform the general public and all interested applicants that the online application for the 87 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and Women has commenced.

    “Application starts from May 3 to June 7, 2024.

    “Application is free at http://recruitment.army.mil.ng. Shortlisted candidates will participate in the state recruitment screening exercise scheduled from June 20th–3rd, 2024. Recruitment into the Nigerian Army is free; beware of fraudsters.”

    Below are the entry requirements as contained on the army flyer:

    • Applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and possess a National Identity Card or NIN slip.
    • Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, following Nigerian Army standards.
    • Applicants must be free of any criminal conviction by the court of law.
    • All applicants must possess at least a minimum of four passes in not more than two sittings in WASCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB.
    • In addition to the above qualification, those applying as Tradesmen/women must also possess TRADE TEST/CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE. Details are available on the website.
    • Applicants must possess a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council, or age declaration.
    • An applicant must not be less than 18 years old or more than 22 years old for non-tradesmen and women, while tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years old as of June 30, 2024.
    • Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for male and female candidates, respectively.
    • Applicants must possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
    • Interested candidates are advised to log on to the Nigerian Army recruitment website, https://recruitment.army.mil.ng, to complete online registration from May 3rd to June 7th, 2024.
