The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 20 of the 23 local government areas in Saturday’s Chairmanship and Councillorship elections.
In contrast, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission’s poll yielded only three LGAs for the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara also lost control of the Opobo-Nkoro LGA to the state’s main opposition party.
Dr Michael Odey, the RSIEC Chairman, released the results on Sunday afternoon at the commission’s headquarters on Aba Road in Port Harcourt.
