    Amotekun, OPC arrest 11 suspected kidnappers in Oyo

    Operatives of Oyo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun, Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) have arrested no fewer than eleven (11) suspects who have been terrorising residents of the State.

    According to Daily Post, the eleven people were arrested at different locations in the state.

    Amotekun Commandant in Oyo State, Col. Olayinka Olayanju explained that six of the suspects were arrested at Kajola Local Government of the State.

    Olayanju on Thursday stated that the suspects were arrested while the security agencies were on their joint routine patrol in the early hours of Thursday.

    He added that the suspects were arrested in separate incidents following encounters at two illegally mounted road blocks.

    The suspects include, Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Masika and Umar Aliu Masika.

    He spoke further by saying that all the 6 suspects were of Bororo Fulani ethnic group.

    He added that the suspects have been handed over to the police.

    Olayanju while speaking further maintained that another five (5) suspects were arrested in Saki East.

    He added that the five people have been handed over to the DPO in the area.

    “The bandits whose modus operandi is to pretend as herdsmen in the day and violently rob innocent passengers on the highways at night were caught with 183 cows, weapons and a total sum of N268, 470.

    “They have been handed over to the Nigeria Police authority of Okeho Divisional HQ, alongside the 183 cows, weapons and money found in their possession for further investigation.

    “Those with necessary information that could help the law enforcement agencies in their investigation are enjoined to report to the nearest police authority for proper investigation.”
