In a breathtaking finale at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz powered past Italy’s Jannik Sinner to win the 2025 US Open men’s singles title.

The 22-year-old claimed his second Flushing Meadows crown with a gripping four-set triumph, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, against his top-ranked rival. The showdown marked the third straight Grand Slam final between the world’s two best players – and it lived up to every expectation.

Alcaraz flew out of the blocks, breaking Sinner early to dominate the opening set 6-2. But the Italian struck back with fierce precision, taking the second 6-3 to level matters. Refusing to yield, Alcaraz found another gear, storming through the third set 6-1 before sealing victory in a tense fourth set 6-4.

The win not only delivers Alcaraz his sixth career major adding to Wimbledon (2023, 2024), the French Open (2024, 2025), and his first US Open crown in 2022 – but also restores him as the world’s No. 1.

For the Spaniard, the result also tilts his high-stakes rivalry with Sinner further in his favour, giving him a 10-5 career lead and victories in seven of their last eight encounters.

With $5 million in prize money and a firm grip on tennis supremacy, Alcaraz has underlined his place as the sport’s defining force of this era.
