Air Peace has announced plans to commence direct flights from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London, United Kingdom, starting October 26, 2025.
In a recent statement on its Facebook page, the airline said the new routes will provide Nigerian travelers with more convenient options.
“The journey just got bigger and even better. We’re not just flying to London — we’re giving you more of London,” the statement read.
“Air Peace is now connecting Abuja to both Heathrow and Gatwick, expanding your options, your comfort, and your access to world-class travel.”
On April 25, Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, announced the approval of Air Peace’s Abuja–London flight services, effective April 24.
Two months later, Keyamo confirmed that Nigeria had secured a Heathrow slot for the airline under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with the UK.
The minister reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting other Nigerian carriers in gaining international access.
This approval followed intense diplomatic pressure from Nigeria, after the UK reportedly denied Heathrow slots to Air Peace despite several formal requests.
On March 30, 2024, Air Peace commenced direct flights from Lagos to London Gatwick, marking a significant milestone in Nigerian aviation.
