Kano Pillars’ general manager Ahmed Musa has condemned the violent circumstances that occurred during their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) home game against Shooting Stars Sports Club on Sunday evening.

In a poignant response, Musa called the occurrence “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” adding that it does not reflect Kano Pillars Football Club’s true beliefs or historic history.

“This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect—values that must never be overshadowed by violence or indiscipline,” Musa said. “Sadly, today, we fell far short of that standard.”

The former Super Eagles captain issued an unreserved apology to Shooting Stars, the match officials, the NPFL board, GTI partners, league organizers, and football fans across Nigeria who were outraged by the situation.

“Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” he added.

Musa promised stakeholders that Kano Pillars FC will fully cooperate with relevant authorities in identifying and sanctioning those involved in the incident.

He promised that the club would take swift internal measures to guarantee that such an incident never happens again.

Musa addressed the club’s supporters personally, reminding them that true loyalty should be exhibited by “respect, passion, and discipline,” rather than aggression.

“This must be a turning point for us. Our passion should lift the club’s image, not stain it,” he said.
