The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied speculations that a new jersey design for the Men’s National Team has been unveiled for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cote’ D’Ivoire in January 2024.
Images of the classic jersey design went viral online on Thursday, with various media outlets announcing that the kit manufacturer, Nike, was releasing it.
NFF on the other hand, indicated in a brief statement issued on Friday that the stories of the launch were false.
The statement reads, “Rumours about a new jersey launch between Nike and the senior men’s national team circulating on social media have been brought to our attention.
”We want to inform the general public that this claim is not true. At the moment, we have no jerseys being launched for the Super Eagles for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Cote d’Ivoire next month.”
Nike released the current Super Eagles jersey in September 2022.
