The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has denied aiding the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, in returning to Kano on Saturday.
Aminu Abdulsalaam, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, alleged that Ribadu arranged for two aircraft to transport Ado-Bayero back to the city at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Refuting the allegations, Zakari Mijinyawa, the spokesman from the office of the NSA, stated that they were false.
He said, “I read the comments on social media; they are untrue. The NSA did not provide air transport to anyone in Kano.
“Political actors should desist from misinforming the public as law enforcement officials in the state strive to maintain peace and order.”
The Chronicle NG reports that Ado Bayero, the deposed emir of Kano, returned to the historic city on Saturday.
Since the Emir was overthrown by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Thursday, it was unknown where he was.
The law that former governor Abdullahi Ganduje had signed on December 5, 2019, was revoked by the state House of Assembly.
Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf gave all the emirs impacted by the Kano Emirates Council Law 48 hours to leave their palaces and hand them over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs after signing the legislation that was later overturned.
Also, he said that Muhammadu Sanusi, the Emir of Kano whom Ganduje had removed in 2020 to install Bayero, would now be restored.
Sanusi performed Jumat prayers at the Government House in Kano on Friday after receiving a letter of reappointment from the governor.
