Senator Solomon Adeola is yet to respond to accountability requests from transparency platform, Tracka

Senator Adeola Solomon representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the 8th assembly has shunned accountability requests from transparency platform, Tracka tarnishing the impeccable record of Lagos senators.

Transparency platform, Tracka has repeatedly urged lawmakers who have oversight functions over constituency projects to show proof of these projects, most of which runs into hundreds of millions of naira.

Of the three senators from Lagos in the 8th assembly, only Senator Solomon has refused to reply Tracka putting a dent to the laudable unbeaten run by the commercial state’s senators.

“Dear Sen @YAYIAdeola you’re yet to respond to our tweet and letter of request on N297m projects locations and implementation status of projects you nominated in 2017 budget. The people of your senatorial district will appreciate your prompt response since FG has released 70% funds,” Tracka tweeted with evidence of acknowledgment letters.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central Senatorial District and Senator Gbenga Ashafa representing Lagos East Senatorial District have both provided Tracka with details of consistency intervention projects.

In fact, they are the only senators to have done so, despite request to all 109 senators by Tracka.

In response to Tracka’s demand in June, Senator Ashafa tweeted, “Good afternoon @TrackaNG considering the nature of your request. Kindly find attached details of the Constituency Intervention Projects executed in Lagos East Senatorial District by various agencies of Government.”

Similarly, Senator Tinubu furnished Tracka with information on constituency projects.

Construction of toilets and motorized borehole facilities in the 20 schools has since been completed. I must point out however, that the projects were implemented by the Federal Ministry of Education and merely handed over upon completion. pic.twitter.com/bU5Smnt1Ne

Senator Adeola Solomon is not the only senator to ignore Tracka’s demand that lawmakers perform oversight functions particularly because they present these projects to their constituents.

Below are some of the other senators who talk big but refuse to be transparent and accountable.
