The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned Bolaji Abdullahi to immediately stop issuing press statements or making public comments in the party’s name.

The party’s leadership said any continued unauthorised use of the party’s name or logo could lead to legal action.

In a statement released on Sunday, the party’s National Chairman, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, and Board of Trustees (BoT) Secretary, Rufus Ikanmi, said Abdullahi has no authority to represent the party.

    Party leadership issues warning

The leadership said if Abdullahi intends to join the ADC, he must follow the party’s official membership process.

According to the statement, the former minister should formally register at his political ward in Kwara State before making any claims of affiliation with the party.

The BoT and the National Working Committee (NWC) stressed that the ADC remains open to all Nigerians but membership must follow the established registration procedure.

    Financial institutions alerted

The party also announced that it has formally notified deposit money banks and financial institutions across Nigeria to stop recognising any individuals claiming to act on behalf of the party without proper authorisation.

The ADC warned that any financial transactions conducted by such persons would be treated as a serious offence.

According to the statement, activities such as lending, withdrawals or transfers from the party’s accounts carried out by unauthorised individuals would be regarded as financial misconduct and economic sabotage.

    ADC threatens legal action

The leadership said the party would take all necessary steps to safeguard its identity, reputation and financial assets.

It also warned that it would not hesitate to pursue legal remedies if Abdullahi continues what it described as unauthorised actions.

“The African Democratic Congress remains a party for all Nigerians, and membership is open to everyone through the established registration process,” the statement said.
